Michigan Summer only Southern States (including) Summer of even number years FL, Carolinas, GA, VA Board Cleaning Preparation: Dry Floors: We must be able to close & secure all gates. Allow ten (10) feet of clearance around perimeter of boards (ice side) for tractor. Boards and floor will be sprayed with water prior to cleaning. Clean up by rink staff: walk behind extractor does the job. Ice In: Rinks withbydehumidification systems are requested to raise humidity levels to a minimum of 60% 24 hours prior to cleaning. Allow ice to build up to about the bottom row of screws on the kickstrip. This allows for sufficient ice for dryshaving and edging after cleaning. If ice is not rough (dirty) from high school or adult hockey, the ice may have to be dry shaved (two laps without towel, both laps up against boards). Clean up: We recommend that the ice be dry shaved after cleaning, to remove the majority of chemicals. This results in less chemical being thrown out onto the playing surface by the edger. We then recommend a second dry shave to remove edging and to feather the ice. After resurfacer is completely rinsed down to remove all chemical and dirty snow, the ice is then conditioned. Depending on ice temperatures and conditions, some rinks may need to chip away ice against kick strip. Some detergent may remain in the ice of 3 – 4 days. Ad Panels: Ads covered with polycarbonate or acrylic sheeting may need to be taped across top seam to reduce water/soap from getting behind boards. This is the rinks decision and responsibility. Rink responsibilities: We provide board cleaning services all times of the day and night. As a result our equipment is usually transported on a forty foot (12’8” ht.) straight truck. We are therefore restricted to commercial truck routes and may require alternative directions to rinks. Please keep us advised as to road constructions, bridges, seasonal weight changes and other conditions that may cause us difficulty in getting to your rink. We also request that rinks make available to us 120v power for operating equipment within our sleeper compartment. Access to showers is appreciated, as is morning coffee. Unless other arrangements are made, payment is expected upon completion. |
